British Indoor GP Series Race 5 & 6

Race 5 & 6 - Hemel Snow Centre - 4th & 5th July 2009

Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July saw Hemel Snow Centre host the 5th and 6th race of the British Indoor Grand Prix Series.

A small group of Hemel Race club members participated in the British Indoor Grand Prix Race at Hemel Snow Centre at the weekend; only 8 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday – but with some outstanding results for them all.

Georgia Keys, the only female representative for the club, skied in the Mini’s category and achieved a very solid 4th place, in both races 5 and 6, in a field of 14 racers.

Consistency was definitely the order of the weekend with Robert Poth skiing to victory achieving first place in CH1 on both Saturday and Sunday. Georgie Hunt was the fastest skier on both days – winning overall first place, and first in the Senior’s category on each day.

Alex White secured 6th place in CH1 on Sunday in what was a tightly fought, highly competitive contest – moving up a place from 7th on Saturday. Daniel Poth was 3rd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday in CH2, and Niall Flahive 7th and 8th in JN1.

Gerard Flahive and Connor Schofield raced only on the Saturday; with Gerard finishing 6th fastest overall, and 1st in JN2 with Connor 16th in CH1.

The next race in the British Indoor Grand Prix Series is at Chill Factor in Manchester on the 8th and 9th August.
