Races 2, 3 & 4 May = Snow Sport Wales Race, Gloucester CN, GBR Race 1

GloucesterThe Bank Holiday weekend saw a full programmes racing at the Gloucester Ski Centre. Saturday, Snow Sport Wales held their Club Race formally known as the Celtic Cup,  whereas on Sunday Gloucester Ski Club held their Club National. The Bank Holiday Monday was the first of the GBR Outdoor Series Races.

The SSW race format is that in the morning a 2 run seeded slalom, using two different courses and a stubby, non seeded, slalom event for U10/12 competitors is run.  In the afternoon a club team Parallel Slalom event was held.

A slightly different format on the Sunday for the CN. A special slalom is held consisting of 3 runs down the same course with the best of Run 1 and Run 2 added to Run 3 to find the overall winner. The minimum penalty for this event is 10 whereas for the SSW and GBR event is 5.

The GBR event consists of 2 runs both to count for seeding and award purposes.

A number of members took part in one of the events, some did all three.
