The National Summer Season started with two Club National Races. These were both held on the Indoor Snow at the Chill Factore, Manchester. Saturday saw the Telford Club National and Sunday the Manchester Ski Racing Club National. Both of these events followed the standard indoor format. Two runs down two different courses, both runs aggregated to find the
overall award winners. Each run was seeded separately with minimum penalty of 10. Each event was accompanied by a U12 and U10 non seeded race.
On Saturday at the Telford Club National the first course was set by Jamie Drummond, under the careful watch of Cal Ryding, and the second course was set by Colin Tee. Both courses had 15 gates with 15 turns. None of the younger members made the journey up north for the U12/10 event. However in the U14 and older event Hemel had some very good results. Charlotte TAPSELL returning after a long season on snow, finished 3rd overall and 1st in the U16 age group. Ella O’NEILL was very close behind by 0.04s in 4th place. This placed her 1st in the U21 group. Danielle HAWKINS finished 4th in the U16’s. In the men’s race Kieran NORRIS was placed 2nd overall and 2nd in the U21’s. Finley DAVIES finished 2nd in the U18’s, this placed him 4th overall. Daniel BARTON was 4th in the U18 age group. Toby CASE, in his second year of U14 racing continued the trend and finished 2nd. John NORRIS, father of Kieran, finished with two consistent runs which placed him also 2nd in the MAS group. A lot of seconds for the Hemel men, well done to all.

In the main event the first course was set again by Alex Reidy and the second course by Carl Ryding. Both set very similar courses with 16 gates.
