This is the 3rd year that SSE have been welcomed back to Snowworlrd in Landgraaf, Its the first race of the 2013/14 BASS season.

Sunday morning saw 2 events, SL for U14/U16 and FIS age groups and a special Slalom for U12/10’s using stubbies giving exciting competition. The competition saw some talented top Belgium races in all age groups. 2 different but challenging 500 metre courses were set by Phil Brown and Jon Reidy on this Europa cup homologated slope. The Pro-Slalom gave a different exhilarating form of competition enjoyed by young and old alike. The British athletes rose to the challenge of the entry by the unknown Belgium level of racers.

All Hemel racers performed well. A good turnout  in the Under 12 competition saw Lillyella and Cordelia Stevens being placed 7th and 8th whilst Lilani Lee being placed 10th . Day 2

The second day in Landgraaf equalled the first with excellent races for all age groups.  A great technical combi that allowed our youngest racers to show their skills at short and wide radius turns started the days racing.  This was followed by run 1 of the BASS SL racing for U14’s and older.  A good technical course with the number and type of gates matching characteristics of the hill and the skill of the competitors.  After a brief break to thaw out frozen limbs and to reset the SL course, the excitement recommenced as the U12/U10’s Landgraaf4hurtled down their combi course.  The day progresses smoothly to the final race of the weekend, the second run of the SL for the U14 and older.  A different but equally suitable course tested the best and allowed more inexperienced racers to develop their skills. We all look forward to coming back in 2014 and look forward to seeing you and our Belgium and Dutch friends. After a brief break to thaw out frozen limbs and to reset the SL course, the excitement recommenced as the U12/U10’s hurtled down their combi course.  The day progresses smoothly to the final race of the weekend, the second run of the SL for the U14 and older.  A different but equally suitable course tested the best and allowed more inexperienced racers to develop their skills.
