SCIRaces 5 & 6 October – Ski Club Ireland Championships and the European Outdoor.

This weekend saw the last of the Home Nations Championships with the Irish Open and the European Outdoor Championships take place at Kilternan just outside Dublin. Always a good fun event that has less entrants than it deserves.

Two Hemel members made the short flight to Ireland and had very good results.

On Saturday was the Irish Open Championships, the courses were set by Brian Byrne (17 gates) and Richard Lambden (18 gates). In the female event Charlotte TAPSELL finished 6th overall. This placed her 1st in the U14 age group. In the male event Toby CASE finished 9th overall and again matched Charlotte by finishing 1st in the U14 group.

KILTERENThe Outdoor European Championships took place on Sunday, courses being set by local trainer Ronan Columb (17 gates) and Robin Kellen (18 gates) from SSW. Charlotte TAPSELL gained one place from the Irish and finished 5th overall, 1st in the U14’s. Toby CASE also gained one place finishing 8th, 1st in the U14 male event.
