Races January 21 & 22 – Welsh FIS Alpine Championships 2014

WelshFISThe Welsh Alpine FIS Championship races are taking place in Champery, Switzerland.

Today was the Slalom followed tomorrow by the GS.  Hemel members once again showed some good results. In the female competition we only had one competitor. In a tough course where 21 entrants DNF Marie CURTIS had two credible runs and finished in 16th position.

In the mens event Hemel had 3 members who finished with less than 100 FIS points. Two good runs by Max BAGGIO saw him finish 10th with 42 FIS points. Kieran NORRIS finished with 60 points in 16th position and Robert TREBILCOCK 22nd. Alex WHITE finished 39th And John NORRIS, father of Kieran, finished 48th. Again another tough race on poor snow with 36 DNF out of a field of just under 100.

In the Welsh FIS GS Amber BUCKLAND finished 24th on a tough course with poor snow conditions. Unfortuantly Marie CURTIS was DSQ Run 1.

In the men’s competition Kieran NORRIS scored less than 100 FIS points and was placed 29th with dad, John NORRIS being placed 64th.
